| Please pray for Hunter, our youngest son Submitted by: Kris Vaassen | Hunter has been in trouble in school in these past few months. He wants to come and live with us. (I am married to his dad) He is being violent in his mom's home so he can come to dad's. We have a court date on Jan.9 which will decide if he comes to live with us or not. We appreciate your prayers. Kris | 01-02-2009 |
| Amen and Thank you so much! Submitted by: kris vaassen | My husband and I recently attended the power team at your church. I wanted to thank you for all of the warm welcomes we received while at your church from members. One wonderful lady sent us healing scriptures which we received in the mail the other day!!! Amen! My husband Aaron is the one who participated in the power team's unlock the grip and fell. He was okay from that! He however suffered a punch from a bar owner here in town who approached him on accusations that he called in his "buddy" to social services. The man proceeded to get into Aaron's face even though he backed up and away. (he was drunk we think) The man punched Aaron straight in the mouth and he bounced off of our van. He was taken to the ER that night and thank the Lord that he doesn't have anything broken. He is still suffering with pain and taking medicines for the injury (this happened on November 17). Prior to this we both were injured in a car accident in 2005 which has not been settled yet due to the injuries. While we are not the kind of people who ask for help much, I ask your help in the power of a prayer. Please help me to be patient and to help Aaron heal. We both found a new world when we came to your church and we pray daily. We came home renewed and refreshed. As they say, God never gives us more than we can handle! Thank you so much! We will say prayers for your wonderful church and the growth of your membership through your ministry. Kris Vaassen | 12-01-2008 |

| Response to Holly Beth Submitted by: Sue Martin | Hello Holly! Imagine my surprise as I'm browsing our church website and I find a heartfelt letter from a dear sister in Christ whom I've never met?! You are so right that we are all ONE FAMILY, no matter where we live. Thank you for writing Grace E. Free, trusting us with your prayer request, and sharing so much about your family. I can tell your children are dear to your heart, and you would like to be closer to them! Our church family will pray for God's will for you and your husband now that your dad has went home to be with the Lord. Praise the Lord he was saved and now residing in God's mansion in heaven!!! A little about Grace E. Free--our family (husband, myself, 13 & 9 yr. old) have attended Grace for a year now and the church family is a very loving, caring body of believers. From old to young, you will find Christians that live these two verses: Jhn 13:35 By this all men will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another." Rom 12:10 Be devoted to one another in brotherly love. Honor one another above yourselves. Lots of wonderful ministries & bible studies, yet there's always room for new families to get involved and serve the Lord. Did you say you were involved in music? Do you or your husband play any instruments? Just curious. So nice that you are exploring our area to reside if it is God's will. I hope you check back to see...that you now have "a friend in Iowa" praying for you! Love in Christ, Sue M. dsmartin22@netins.net | 08-13-2007 |
| God's will to be clear Submitted by: Holly Beth | Hell-o Dear Ones, Although we have never met, we are one in the Family of God aren't we? That encourages us so much! Thank you that we can ask for your prayers as we continue to walk this walk. Short story; Jim and I moved here to Florida 5 years ago to care for my aging and ill father. He has since passed away but, praise God, was saved before he left us! That was last Oct. Jim and I came here from Wisconsin. Our son and daughter, grown, live there still. Julia and husband Brian are expecting their first baby in Oct. Obviously we want to be nearer our kids! Son Jimmy is a Tech. Sgt. in U.S. Air Force Guard and has had two tours in Afghanistan. He lives north of Milwaukee and is finishing college this next year. That's the short story! Jim and I want God's direction and His will ONLY in our next step. As we look online for towns and ideas, yours is the first town we have found in your general vicinity with a church other than the conventional denominations. We have a Free Church background and our entire family was involved in music for decades. Jim and I are looking to put the house on the market in Feb. or so. We pray God will give us courage to step out in faith and move on. We miss our family! And we know we are just soujourners in this life until Jesus returns or we go to Him, but, for now, we want to do His will. I am a Hospice Nurse. Jim has his own gun repair business and he also teaches three gun safety/concealed carry classes a week. He is a retired policeman. Thanks for reading all of this. Would love a reply, And then we can "have a friend" in Iowa. What is Elkader like?? Warmly, Jim and Holly Beth | 08-04-2007 |
